He was once compared to Jay-Z, by Jay-Z. If that isn't endorsement enough, he's also appeared on a Kanye West album, designed his own line of RBK shoes, and started his own label (1st and 15th) and design company (Righteous Kung Fu) all before releasing his first solo album. Now that album (Food & Liquor) has hit the street, and everyone in the hip hop world that hasn't already is taking notice.
